What a nice post for us to get just as we've wrapped things up after another season. It was a treat having you all here after your absence of these several years. It's amazing though ... when you walked in it didn't seem like four years since we'd last seen you. It just seemed like your regular annual visit of past! Now that you're "officially" married we all wish you continued happiness together :) Best wishes over the winter and we'll see the "three" of you next fall! Eric & Poppy and all the "gang" You guys are soooo… sweet. What a nice post for us to get just as we’ve wrapped things up after another season.

It has been 4 long years since our annual trip to Killarney. Life had interfered with allowing us time away. As 2 self-employed people we struggle to get more than a few days away at a time. To have real down time therefore is crucial. We have found no place better to do this,but at Killarney Lodge! After a 3 hr relaxing drive we are warmly greeted,offered a delicious hot lunch and we are off to our fantastic,private and well appointed cabin. I have described our "home coming" to Killarney Lodge like,"Falling into a Cloud."To call you staff seems inappropriate. You are all so kind,warm and genuine; nothing is too little, nothing is too much. Your attention to every fine detail is a testament of people who care.You all work as if you are a family run business. This past Sept. we celebrated our honeymoon and arrived for a 5 day stay, but we could not leave (even though we had made plans to get together with family for 2 days in Dorset), so we stayed an extra 2 days. We don"t know how you did it, having no vacancy, but not only did you accommodate, you did it without moving us out of our cabin....Thank You! We have been together for 13yrs., this was our 1st time away for a week. That changed for us this year. We have made our reservations for a week next fall at Killarney! We have met so many guests who have been coming to the Lodge yearly for decades, with good reason. We are proud to say, some day, we too have been coming to Killarney Lodge every year for decades (minus the 4 yrs. we had NO vacation) The reason is obvious to those of us who have found "The Perfect Getaway." For those who are still looking? You will understand after your first time here at this special place! Taken care of by these wonderful people! Thank You Poppy!! Thank You Eric!! Thank You Killarney Family/Staff!! We must also say Thank You from Bernie our little cockapoo. She is our special little girl (as you all at Killarney know). She has also become a therapy dog, working with me doing my healing therapies at home. Bernie is a BIG part of our life and my practice, as such she needs time away too. Being at Killarney Lodge is her favourite place to connect with her instinctual roots. She loves to swim,rummage through the forest, hike and just hang out. She is very different on vacation and very relaxed when she gets home...just like us! On a scale of 1-10 we rate Killarney Lodge a 10!! We were fortunate enough to get your last cabin. We had a fabulous time .. again. Your staff is fantastic! Talking with Kim was like talking to family. The views from cabin 29 are amazing. The greeting from the loon just as we walked up was so beautiful and then just as we were leaving in the exact same spot. Stunning! I spoke with another of your staff regarding the stone lamp in our cabin. I would very much like to find the company that makes them if you would be so kind to email me their information. ...Finally (right down the road from the lodge) after eight trips we saw the most spectacular moose and were able to get amazing photos of him. Each evening after coming back from closing the gate I would walk down onto the dock to watch the moonlight shimmering on the lake. Last night, while I didn't see it, I heard our "resident" beaver loudly slap its tail in the darkness :) Thanks again Julie & Bob, and hope to see you back again next year. Bob has wanted to rent a cottage for a number of years now, and I haven't wanted to cook and clean so we haven't but then ... Killarney was a dream come true. You couldn't have picked a more perfect cabin! We watched the sun rise each morning, the moon rise each night ... we dined like royalty. The pastry chef is first class, the Chief Chef unbelievable and if I say more, I fear that too many people will be lining up to visit and I'll have to book a year in advance.
