There are many things to do at Killarney Lodge and in Algonquin Park. Whether you are looking to be active or rest and relax, there's something for everyone.
Hiking
Take a leisurely walk and explore the surroundings. For the more adventurous, hike one of the Park's many trails offering spectacular views. There are 15 self-guided interpretive trails all with varying locations and lengths. Each trail is designed to explore a different aspect of the Algonquin environment and is readily marked for easy navigation. At each trailhead, there is an interpretive guide booklet for your appreciation of the trail's points of interest.
Biking
Bring your own trail bike or rent one from the nearby Lake of Two Rivers Store and ride two great bicycle paths. One is the rugged Minnesing Trail the other is at Mew Lake. The latter is an easy ride on an abandoned railway bed from the now-defunct Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound Railway.
Wildlife
Observe moose, beaver, fox, loons, turtles, deer, ducks and other wildlife in its natural environment. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars too. Take a short paddle ride, or set off for a day long adventure by canoe with a packed lunch.

Thanks to you, even lovelier"

Museums
Visit the Algonquin Logging Museum and let the story of logging from an era gone by, come to life.
Tour the Visitor Centre. Regularly scheduled programs for children offer a learning experience about Algonquin's wildlife through an hour of discovery with games, stories and animals. Adults will enjoy the world class exhibits, an excellent bookstore, a theatre presentation and finally, the observation deck which provides a breathtaking panorama of the wild Algonquin landscape.
Just Take it Easy
Relax on the deck of your cabin, the guest lounge, or on our private sandy beach and watch the loons, beavers, and ducks, or read a book and/or doze the day away.
Gaze at the stars, listen to the sound of the wind whistling through the tall pines, breathe in the fresh country air, or meet other guests and share your experiences of the day.
Canoeing
Travel some of Algonquin's most beautiful waters and shores. Guided day canoe trips and complete outfitting packages for single or multi-day canoe trips are easily arranged and come complete with guide, canoe, food and camping supplies. To discover more information, please visit The Portage Store.
Fishing
Fishing in Lake of Two Rivers is quite average - small mouth bass and lake
trout (each in their respective seasons). Bait and tackle can be obtained at the nearby Two Rivers Store (1 km west of
the Lodge). Live bait is prohibited - only lures and worms are allowed in the Park.
Lake Opeongo is a good place to fish for the "big ones" - a few kilometers to the
east of the Lodge. You can contact www.algonquinoutfitters.com for
information on rentals etc. from the Opeongo Store.
If you want a really good local guide who arranges everything for you,
Dave Siydock of www.algonquinexpeditions.com takes you for a great day out -
providing the boat, tackle, bait, a shore lunch (hopefully with the fish
you've caught). He's a really nice guy from Whitney, and has a great
reputation for finding the big ones - he's a really avid fisherman who knows
the lakes like the back of his hand.
Theatre
Spend an evening at the Park's Outdoor Theatre. Here, a wide variety of films and slide talks are presented for your enjoyment. Visit the Algonquin Art Centre.
